Terms
Run by Eppler Software, Canada. Last updated October 18, 2026.
Nokto is made and run by Eppler Software in Canada. Seven points cover it.
Your notes are yours
Nokto claims no rights to anything you write. The server cannot read your notes, and we do not want to.
Nokto is free today
Paid plans are planned. These terms will change before that happens, and you will see the change here and in the release notes.
Keep your Sync Key
It is the only thing that can read your notes. If you lose it and every device that has Nokto, nobody can recover them, including us. Settings › Export all notes makes a backup that does not need the key.
The Sync Server is best effort
It can go down, and in the worst case it can lose data. Your devices keep complete copies of every note, so you can keep writing and sync again later. If your notes matter, keep an export.
Use it fairly
Do not flood the server or its sign-in emails, use it to store things that are not Nokto notes, or use it to break the law. We can block an address, a vault, or an Account that does.
It can change
We can change or shut down the Sync Server. If we shut it down, we will say so here and in the release notes as far ahead as we can. You can point the apps at your own Sync Server any time in Settings.
No warranty
Nokto is provided as is. We do our best, but we cannot promise it is free of bugs, and we are not responsible for lost notes. Canadian law applies.
